On 12 May Macintosh Retail Group and Ofa Bamberg agreed to the sale of 100% of the Nea International bv shares. Ofa Bamberg (D) is a manufacturer of medical stockings and bandages and is an international market leader. For many years now Ofa Bamberg has been Nea’s largest customer and the company represents the Push and PSB brands in Germany and Austria.

Ofa Bamberg has taken over Nea due to the high regard they have for the range of products that compliments the Ofa Bamberg products. They also recognised the great opportunities for innovation offered by Nea. For their part, Nea sees a strong strategic fit with the takeover by Ofa Bamberg and looks forward to having the opportunity to continue their profitable strategy whilst retaining their identity, position and employment prospects. From the perspective of the interests of the stakeholders, both Nea and Ofa look forward to working more closely together, with Ofa Bamberg taking on the role of the parent company. After a trading relationship of twenty five years the takeover offers a promising future.
