Wearing a brace helps

Dragen van braces helptThat is the conclusion of sports doctor Kasper Janssen in his doctoral research at VUmc. Dr Janssen advises that athletes should continue to wear a brace for at least a year after straining an ankle.

His research has also shown that a brace works far better than balance training and that the chances of a recurrence are considerably reduced by wearing a brace.
