25 Years of Push: Pushing Ambition

Pushing AmbitionThe company's origin lies in Maastricht university hospital, where the idea of the Push brace was conceived in 1986. Specialists Dr. Cees Rein van den Hoogenband and the late professor Co Greep were the founding fathers of a new development. In the early 1980s, Frans Coumans' taping method had been introduced in the hospital environment. The taping method had proved successful in the functional treatment of joint injuries, in particular of the ankle joint. But physicians thought that an alternative solution made from textile and elastic bands would be much easier and more comfortable for patients. And so it happened. Together with the Limburg business community, Nea International was founded. A project team consisting of physicians, physiotherapists and taping experts set the development project in motion. Before long, a range of braces for various joints was created. Push for the treatment of joint injuries, and PSB for the prevention of sports injuries. Two brands that successfully found their place in the world of orthopaedics.

Support for the Johan Cruyff Foundation

Johan Cruijf FoundationTo mark its anniversary, Push has looked for a charity. In December 2010, we signed a sponsor agreement with the Johan Cruyff Foundation. Nea stives to lift barriers to physical activity for both the young and the old. The Foundation subscribes to this idea, concentrating in particular on disabled children. In addition to the creation of the famous Cruyff Courts in urban areas with too little room for children to play, the Foundation dedicates itself to children with physical impairments. One of its activities is the "From Fundamentals to Talent" project, in which children are given the opportunity to discover their talents, perhaps to eventually take part in the Paralympics. It is our ambition in this anniversary year to make a significant contribution to this ideal.
